have been Professionally guiding clients and guests since 1994. I Specialize In Bear , Deer
& Moose Hunts and do it quite well.. We
specialize in zones 8 ,14, & 17 and know our area well !
While I have been in most parts of Maine for
various activities to include hunting , fishing ,scouting and exploring
there is always that one specific area where everything comes together.
For me that area came in central Maine, right outside Abbot
Village in an unorganized township called Kingbury. it is on the edge
of The Great Northwoods. We are also on the western edge of the
area referred to The Maine Highlands, an area that is a rolling
hilly area ,but does not require mountain climbing to hunt.
Bear ,Deer and Moose guiding takes
months to prepare for each year even though they only last a few
weeks. I do this with pleasure and enthusiasm. My occupation the
rest of the year is as a professional house builder which pays
damm well ,and I would love to do guiding for free, but due
to costs involved I just cant swing the free part. The
Great Outdoors calls me strongly during these two months and
I'm fortunate that my wife and boss understand..
This area largely belongs to paper
companies, and for hunting bear over bait , I have leased
thousands of acres of land exclusively for my guests.
In the past years , before 2004, we
set up tents and campers in remote areas, beside crystal clear brooks
and streams. In 2004 , I signed a 99 year lease and have built my own
lodge on the banks of Kingsbury Stream. Being relatively remote ,
it required a road , We have one , passable by car, it's
7 tenths of a mile long with a gated drive.
There is no electricity for miles, so we
rely on gas stoves, gas lights and a generator for
our needs to include inside toilet, hot water
showers. Our water supply comes from the stream by way of a DC
pump.
This area is
known for it's big black bear,bull moose over 1000 pounds and trophy
bucks.
